How it can be proved that the basic structure of the Modern Periodic Table is based on the electronic configuration of atoms of different elements?

Answer - The elements in the Modern Periodic Table are arranged in increasing order of atomic numbers and atomic number is equal to number of protons or electrons which gives the electronic configuration. The group number of an element depends upon the number of valence electrons and the period number of an element is equal to the number of shells.
